C&D - Intensive Courses
The RSN offers many different ways to complete the C&D programme. One choice is onsite Intensive Courses. As the name suggests these courses are highly focussed and although can be challenging, they are enjoyable at the same time.
The list below gives details of all the upcoming intensive courses until August 2027. Students registered for the C&D programme can book these courses directly through Bookeo.
Intensive Course Overview
We offer in-person Intensive courses at a number of our RSN venues including, Hampton Court Palace, Glasgow, Durham, Brisbane Australia and Fredericksburg USA. Classes start at 10am and finish at 4pm, with a short morning tea break and an hours break for lunch.
The format varies slightly depending on which venue you choose, but each course includes eight days of tuition interspersed with a few additional stitching days.
There are two formats, one is an eight days tuition spread over 12 days, where the non-tuition days are for independent stitching. The other is made up of two parts, each with four-day of tuition, students can either book one or both parts, two parts are equivalent to an eight-day module.
Though not mandatory, it is possible to complete one module of the C&D programme during an intensive – from sampling to mounting the finished work. Some students even enrol for our Summer Intensives at Hampton Court Palace for all four certificate modules!
Intensives can be combined with the other tuition options, regular day sessions and/or online C&D courses and online day sessions.

Costs
Tuition Fees
Full Intensive Course : £1272 – Equivalent of eight days at £159 per day (except Fredericksburg, USA Intensive which is £1690).
4-Day Intensive Course: £636 – Equivalent of four days at £159 per day
Starter Kit Fees
Some Certificate modules have ‘starter kits’ of equipment and/or materials. The costs are added at the time of booking the first class as follows:
Jacobean Starter Kit: £160 (onsite) or £180 (Fredericksburg)- This includes a wooden slate frame which will last for many years, along with other items e.g. needles and string, which will be used repeatedly. It also includes linen twill fabric.
Blackwork Starter Kit: £28 – All the specialist threads needed to work the module, but not the fabric.
Certificate Goldwork Starter Kit: £70 – All the specialist threads and other materials needed to work the Certificate module, but not the fabric.
Other Costs
Other materials can be sourced independently or through the RSN. C&D students get a 10% discount from the RSN Shop.
