Periwinkle Vine Inspired Silk Shading

Develop your thread painting skills with our Periwinkle Vine floral design. Suitable for beginners and those looking to build their confidence in silk shading, this class will introduce the techniques used to create shape, depth and detail through stitch. Throughout the class, you will learn a variety of filling techniques including French knots, long and short stitch, split stitch, stem stitch and holding stitches. You will explore how colour, stitch direction and layering can be used to bring the flowing stems and delicate flowers of the design to life. Held in the surroundings of Hampton Court Palace, this class offers the opportunity to develop your embroidery skills while creating a beautiful floral study. All materials required to complete the design will be provided. Please bring a notebook and pen if you would like to make notes throughout the class. You are also welcome to film demonstrations for your own personal reference and practice after the workshop.
