Description
Join textile artist and sculptor Mia Sylvia Herrod as she reflects on over a decade of creative exploration, tracing her journey from the earliest beginnings of her practice to building an internationally recognised creative business.
Mia will share an honest insight into the evolution of her career, exploring the lessons she learnt both within and beyond university, the challenges of establishing and growing an independent creative practice,
and the guiding principles that continue to shape her work. The talk will delve into Mia's creative philosophy and her distinctive approach to textiles as a sculptural and expressive medium. From the relationship between material and space to the possibilities of scale, site-specific installation and sensory experience, Mia will explore how intuition, experimentation and a curiosity for the natural world inform her practice.
Offering a personal perspective on the intersection of art,entrepreneurship and creative identity, the talk invites audiences to consider what it means to build a sustainable creative career while remaining true to an evolving artistic vision.
