Helen Richman regularly teaches embroidery classes at the RSN and has taught Day Classes across the UK as well as in the United States and Canada. Her embroidery journey with the Royal School of Needlework began in 2006 when she joined the school and completed the three-year apprenticeship, gaining expert knowledge in many fields of hand embroidery. Helen set up her business The Bluebird Embroidery Company in 2010. She regularly teaches classes and workshops, has sold her embroidered art works in local Somerset galleries, and has completed several high profile commissions including one from the Royal Mail. Helen also designs and sells her own range of embroidery kits, many of which are available from the RSN Shop. Having written articles for Inspirations Magazine, New Stitches Magazine and Stitch Magazine, Helen published her first book, ‘Stumpwork Embroidery: Techniques and Projects’ in 2017. In 2023, Helen was honoured to be part of the Embroidery Studio team at the Royal School of Needlework who worked on a number of items for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, including The Queen’s Robe of Estate and the Anointing Screen.
