Combine delicate ribbonwork with three-dimensional stumpwork to create this charming secret garden design of dainty flowers which bloom around a tiny metal key and padlock.

This pretty design will introduce you to a select range of embroidery stitches and a number of the techniques used to create both ribbonwork and stumpwork embroidery. This will include creating beautiful embroidery stitches using silk ribbon threads, creating 3D embroidered wired shapes with couching and buttonhole stitch edging, applique, thread wrapped wires, ribbon wrapped beads and creating decorative fly stitch, stem stitch, french knots, turkey rug stitch, raised leaf stitch and long and short stitch.

While this kit accompanies the Stumpwork Embroidery book, it is not necessary to have a copy in order to complete the design; this kit includes all of the threads, fabrics, wires, silk ribbons, needles and templates required and the clear instruction booklet with step by step photographs will guide you easily through your project. The calico background fabric is provided with the design already transferred on for you.

Materials included in the kit: silk ribbons, DMC stranded cotton threads, key and padlock charms, calico fabric, dark sage silk fabric, size 9 embroidery needle, size 24 chenille needle, size 16 chenille needle, cake sire, bondaweb, wooden beads and templates.
