Fragile Threads Fundraiser

Fragile Threads is an innovative and collaborative partnership programme, made possible thanks to a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project aims to spotlight endangered species, celebrate ecosystems, raise awareness and inspire action to preserve the planet’s extraordinary biological diversity.

To raise funds to continue the important work of the project, two members of our RSN fundraising team will be taking on a 25km walking challenge in Kent, following two familiar routes: the Valley Walk to Leeds Castle and Blue Bell Hill to Mote Park. They will be raising money for Fragile Threads along the way.

“As a child, I picked marsh marigolds and wood anemones and pressed them into family treasures; 30 years later, I know those familiar reserves have been affected by the climate crisis.

Fragile Threads is a project that shows these changes and explains why we need to protect these places through a craft that is also under threat: hand embroidery. Hand embroidery is an art form that belongs to everyone, which is why I am raising money for Fragile Threads.”
