Course Description
In this fun, hands-on 2.5-hour workshop, you’ll make your own cute little ladybird pin using goldwork embroidery techniques. It’s a great introduction to goldwork if you’re curious about textured, slightly 3D embroidery but want something approachable and enjoyable. During the class, you’ll learn how to build up shape using felt padding and work with a range of goldwork materials, including pearl purl, smooth purl, and bright check. We’ll cover techniques like couching, cutwork, and chipping, plus a small amount of beading to add detail. By the end, you’ll have your own finished ladybird pin to take home, along with a good understanding of core goldwork techniques and the confidence to try them again in your own projects. You will have all the materials to stitch up to 2 ladybird pins but some of you may need to finish the 2nd pin at home.
