The Radiant Heart - An Introduction to Luneville Tambour Beading with Axelle Faes-Cortes

You will be introduced to the world of Tambour Embroidery, exploring its specialist tools, materials and foundational techniques. You will build confidence with the Tambour hook and learn how to work Chain Stitch in every direction, including curves, angles and corners.

As your skills develop, you will explore two creative techniques: Pulling Stitch, used to create crisp, pointed angles and confidently fill shapes, and the decorative Fancy Zig-Zag Stitch. You will then be introduced to working with sequins through Flea Stitch, giving you your first experience of adding embellishment with the Tambour hook.

You will go on to explore a wide range of bead and sequin techniques, working with fire-polished, bugle, seed and three-cut beads and learning how to apply them from underneath the fabric. You will also learn how to attach both flat and cup sequins, creating continuous and discontinuous lines within your embroidery.

By the end of the course, you will have developed a strong foundation in Tambour Embroidery and explored the versatility of the technique through stitch, beads and sequins.
