Tutor Biography
Helen Jones
Over 10 years ago Helen swapped a legal career for one of stitch. She completed the Certificate and Diploma course and then went on to train with the RSN as a tutor. She now teaches for the RSN and, through her own company, Stitchwork, for other audiences too.
She enjoys teaching pretty much anything to anybody and is currently helping out at a new embroidery project, ‘Ricami’, for parents and young babies at Stepney City Farm.
Over time, she has become fascinated by 17th-century English embroidery in the form of Raised Work, or three-dimensional embroidery. In addition to items in the RSN Collection, she has studied Raised Work held by the V&A, the National Trust and the Lady Lever Art Gallery.
