Course Description

Begin your first day with a private guided tour of the beautiful Rose Garden at Hampton Court Palace, led by a member of the Palace Gardens team. Offered exclusively as part of this course, this special experience will introduce you to the garden and its roses before you begin creating your own beaded interpretation.

Across this two-day course, Hannah Dyesmith, founder of The Beaded Florist, will introduce you to the traditional craft of French Beading through her contemporary, sculptural approach to floral design. Working with thousands of tiny glass beads and wire, you will learn how to create, shape and assemble individual components by hand to bring your rose to life.

You can choose from a curated selection of rose colourways and will leave with your finished piece, Hannah’s pattern and additional materials to continue your French Beading at home.

What you will need to bring

All of the specialist materials and equipment required for the course will be provided for you. We recommend bringing a notebook and pen if you would like to make notes throughout the course. And if you have a favourite mug, feel free to bring it along for your refreshment breaks!

Tutor Biography

Hannah Dyesmith

Hannah Dyesmith is a self-taught French Beading artist and founder of The Beaded Florist, specialising in one-of-a-kind botanical sculptures and bespoke bridal flowers. Her work brings a modern, sculptural approach to this traditional technique, with a particular focus on botanical detail, colour and movement. Hannah creates bridal bouquets, statement flowers and floral commissions for clients across the UK and internationally, including recreating fresh wedding bouquets as beaded heirlooms. Alongside her commission work, Hannah teaches French Beading workshops, sharing her techniques and introducing others to the creative possibilities of the craft.
