This delightful hedgerow bird composition was inspired by the tree and hedge sparrow communities that Nicola encounters when she walks her dog Quince across the fields. It is a masterclass in embellished crewel work and surface embroidery, and includes Split Stitch, Stem Stitch, Back Stitch, Satin Stitch and variations, Long and Short Shading, Couching, French Knot and Ghiordes Knot Stitch.
