You will learn the complete process from beginning to end, including how to apply the foil delicately and selectively to catch the light without overwhelming the detail of the original print.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"ewa-rteLine\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"ewa-rteLine\"\u003eFrom week two, one of our RSN Tutors will take you into the embroidery. You will begin by creating the wired shapes that will eventually become the raised wings of butterflies and dragonflies. Working with Tambour, you will create the fine veining within the wings before learning Trailing to form a defined outer edge that can later be cut from the fabric. Beading will introduce further detail, giving the insects a jewel-like quality against the midnight garden.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"ewa-rteLine\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"ewa-rteLine\"\u003eGoldwork techniques will then be used to create greater dimension. You will learn how to build the dragonfly body using Soft String Padding before covering the raised foundation with Cutwork, creating a shimmering metallic surface that catches the light alongside the foiled details.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"ewa-rteLine\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"ewa-rteLine\"\u003eAs the course progresses, you will continue embellishing the printed fabric, learning how to place embroidery across the background and respond to the existing pattern rather than simply covering it.
