This course will cover basics in how to form a repeat counted pattern, including darning stitch patterns. Shading and fading with both pattern, thread thickness, and thread tone will be covered, showing how to create three dimensional effects, and depth of shade. Different thread count fabrics, and scale of stitch will be explored to show how one stitch type can be compared to another on a different scale. Texture, colour using different thread types using traditional counted patterns will be trialled, as well as other contemporary ideas.
